The concept of “warriors of light” often symbolized the struggle between good and evil, where individuals are called to fight against darkness and uphold righteousness. In ancient texts, particularly from the Second Temple period, the concept of a battle between the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness is significant. The battle represents this struggle between good and evil, where the Sons of Light, often associated with divine favor, are destined to triumph over their adversaries. The idea of being a WARRIOR OF LIGHT encourages individuals to embody virtues like courage, integrity and compassion in their daily lives. This battle against darkness can be seen to stand against injustice, negativity and despair in the world.
"You are a WARRIOR OF LIGHT. You are the head. You are NOT the tail. You will seek truth and justice. You will be a protector and a provider. You will only bow to the ONE TRUE KING. You will put on the FULL ARMOR of GOD, so that you can stand firm against the schemes of the devil and battle dark forces to advance the Kingdom of Heaven. You will care for the temple of your body and guard it from spiritual attack-living in a way that honors HIM."
The Armor of GOD described in Ephesians 6:10-18, is spiritual protection that Christians are encouraged to put on to defend against evil and temptation. It includes six pieces: the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit.
Belt of Truth-Represents the importance of truth in a believer’s life-providing stability and support.
Breastplate of Righteousness-Symbolizes the protection of one’s heart through righteous living and faith in Christ.
Shoes of the Gospel of Peace-Encourages readiness to spread the message of peace and the gospel.
Shield of Faith-Used to extinguish doubts and temptations, representing trust in God.
Helmet of Salvation-Protects the mind, reminding believers of their salvation and hope in Christ.
Sword of the Spirit-Represents the Word of God, which is used offensively to combat spiritual attacks.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17
